What doesn't
Three things, and what we do about each.
- Saved card data. WorkWave Payments does not hand over card tokens; an independent review of the terms reports a per-token migration charge and a fee to leave WorkWave Payments14. Shortcut re-enrolls autopay with a pay link and a saved-card prompt on the first invoice, and lists who has not re-enrolled yet. Payments run on your own Stripe account from then on: cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, pay-by-text, ACH, card-by-phone, late fees, fee pass-through.
- Printed mail. RealGreen runs an in-house mail house for prepay letters, renewal letters, and postcards. Shortcut prints a day's leave-behind invoices from Dispatch and sends everything else by email and text, and a bulk price change exports a mailing list for customers without an email.
- Saved custom reports. Shortcut's reports are fixed views that each answer one question and say how they measure it. Your saved report selections in SA5 are not imported; on the walkthrough we match each one to a view.

What it costs
Nothing to switch.

After that: $180 per crew per month, or $144 billed yearly, with measurement, routing, the customer portal, automations, chemical records, the crew app, and unlimited users included. Everything RealGreen sells as a module is in the price. The whole bill, next to RealGreen's terms.

Why operators leave
What changed, not what you chose.
RealGreen customers stayed for routing, programs and rounds, and a product that does everything. Many have been on it ten to thirty years. What changed is what they describe leaving over, and each line links to where it came from.
- Someone who answers. 2026 reviewers describe account managers they could not reach and ticket queues13. Shortcut's support is the team that built it, same day, with a direct line to the founder.
- An app crews will open. RealGreen Mobile 2.0, the app every field tech was moved to in July 2026, sits at 1.5 stars on the App Store and 1.6 on Google Play, with reviews describing daily reinstalls1, 2, 3. Shortcut's crew app queues every start, photo, note, finish, and clock punch offline and replays them in order when the truck is back in service.
- A bill with nothing added. Reported terms include one-time initial fees, metered users, a separate Measurement Assistant subscription, early-termination fees even for dropping a module, and a $500 fee to leave WorkWave Payments14, 11. Shortcut is one price per crew with everything in it.
- One job across several days. The one con in a February 2026 five-star review13. On Shortcut, man-hour jobs span workdays, crews request another day from the field, and installs run as Projects with phases.
- Customers who can text back. RealGreen's texting is outbound only, with two-way listed as coming on its own page6. Shortcut's shared inbox is two-way, with STOP handling built in.

When you have an issue
A real person, same day.
Every Shortcut customer gets a direct line to our team, including me. The same people who moved your data answer you, same day, every day. If you've spent a week waiting on a ticket, you already know why that matters.

Switching from RealGreen, answered.
What a RealGreen customer asks on the first call, in plain words.
How do I get my data out of RealGreen?
Give Shortcut access to Service Assistant 5 and we export and rebuild customers, properties and measurements, programs and rounds, price charts, prepay balances, invoices, and payment history overnight, at no fee. Start before your renewal notice window: reported terms give you 30 days after termination to take your data, and only once every fee is paid.
Do my programs and rounds come across?
Yes. Seasonal and interval programs with round templates, each round priced from the measured lawn. Due rounds sit in an Unscheduled pool as past due, due soon, or due later, and Needs attention flags any chemical round that is due with nothing scheduled.
What happens to prepay balances?
They carry over as prepay invoices that cover the named services and bill $0 at completion until the balance is used.
What happens to my condition codes?
They become service add-ons and customer tags. Techs add notes, photos, and priced add-ons from the field, and estimates carry optional lines the customer accepts online.
Will my customers' saved cards move?
No processor hands over card data. Shortcut re-enrolls autopay with a pay link and a saved-card prompt on the first invoice, and lists who has not re-enrolled yet.
Does the crew app work offline?
Starting a stop, photos, notes, finishing, skipping, chemical records, and the time clock all queue offline and replay in order when the truck is back in service.
Do my application records stay compliant?
Each completed stop snapshots the product and EPA number, planned versus actual with variance approval, the weather at the truck's GPS point, and the applicator license, and the finish is blocked until the record is complete. The filing export refuses gaps.
Can I keep RealGreen running while I check Shortcut?
Yes, for up to two weeks, side by side. Nothing in Service Assistant 5 changes until your crews switch.
When should I give RealGreen notice?
After the side-by-side period and before your renewal notice window. Reported terms describe a 12-month non-cancelable default, auto-renewal with 30 days' notice, and early-termination fees. Read your own order form; terms vary. Bring your renewal date to the call.
Does Shortcut work with QuickBooks?
QuickBooks Online syncs customers, services, invoices, payments, refunds, and credits automatically. QuickBooks Desktop is supported as a custom configuration set up with you on the walkthrough.
Does it cost anything to switch?
No. After that, $180 per crew per month, everything included, no contract.
