Two settings first.
Set your route start and end address, so routes are planned from the yard and back. A stop that can't be placed on the map shows on Needs attention with a Fix address button, and the optimizer leaves it where it was.
Routing one truck is a puzzle. Routing six is a different problem: the shortest route for Crew A might leave Crew D with eleven stops across town. Shortcut optimizes one crew's route, or plans the whole day at once and moves stops between crews when that shortens the day overall. You see miles and drive time before and after, and nothing changes until you apply it.

The problem at five crews
Per-crew routing tools optimize each truck in isolation. Hand-built routes drift as customers come and go. Either way, the office spends an evening a week dragging stops around, and the drive time still lands on the one crew that always runs late.
How Shortcut does it
Set your route start and end address, so routes are planned from the yard and back. A stop that can't be placed on the map shows on Needs attention with a Fix address button, and the optimizer leaves it where it was.
Open the crew's lane and choose Optimize. Its stops go into the shortest driving order, and nothing moves to another crew. Use it for crews whose stops must stay with them, like the spray truck.
Plan the whole day at once. Shortcut can move a stop to a different crew when that shortens the day, and no crew gets much more than the larger of its own plan and an even share.
One row per crew: miles and drive time, before and after, with the difference, and an All crews total. Drive time is time on the road only. Apply it, or close the window and nothing has changed.
Drag to reorder a route for today or for good. A standing route order per weekday survives the next optimization of another crew.
Lasso a neighborhood, move it to another day or crew, and text every affected customer in one step. Every change has an undo. More on the board.

Pricing, switching, and what Shortcut does today, in plain words.
Both. Optimize one crew to put its stops in the shortest driving order without moving anything to another crew. Optimize all crews to plan the whole day at once, which can move a stop to a different crew when that shortens the day overall.
The all-crews optimizer treats crews as interchangeable. If a crew's stops must stay with that crew, optimize that crew on its own.
Yes. The preview shows miles and drive time before and after for each crew, and an All crews total. Nothing changes until you click apply.
The optimizer skips it and it stays where it was. It appears on the Needs attention tab as Missing coordinates with a Fix address button.
Drag to reorder for today or for good. A standing route order per weekday is kept.
Yes. Crews see their stops for the day in the app, in the order you set, with directions. If the office changes the route during the day, the card says Added or Moved.
No. Route optimization and the map are included at $180 per crew per month.
Shortcut optimizes one crew or the whole fleet with a preview you apply or undo, keeps a standing route order per weekday, and lets you lasso stops on the map. Dynamic Routing honors customer time windows, tech certifications, vehicle capacity, revenue targets, and hours.
